Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Teakettle I bought this item as a Christmas present for my parents, because they needed a new one. I thought going to C&B for a teakettle would be great since I heard the store has great products. Not the case here. I'm embarrassed for myself and C&B. Within a month of use, the outside of the teakettle became tarnished and the black plastic cover on the spout melted! That's inexcusable. I paid $50 for a terrible quality product. Now, I have to go purchase another teakettle for my parents. A waste of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A tea kettle that doesn't whistle-Bummer Hot water tastes metallic-y. Not easily to fill. Doesn't whistle. Would like to return.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfectly happy I still love the look and functionality of this teakettle after almost 2 years. The brushed stainless is easy to keep clean. The whistle is loud enough to be heard in all areas of my house (which is admittedly small, but if you are boiling water I suggest you don't go into the next wing or out to the garage and start a project). The handle / lid-opening combo is genius and very easy to manipulate. Just a slight tilt opens the lid to pour and it goes back into place when you set it back on the stove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Tea Kettle Ever This was a wedding gift in 2002. We'll be celebrating 11 years this September! The kettle is just now starting to show wear and tear by not whistling all the time and takes more effort to scrub the outside. But hey, it's 11 years old after all! Sturdy and reliable. We're definitely getting another one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy Yes, hot water tastes metallic-y. It's terrible.I don't know why they used a rubber or silicon ring on the lid. It makes a bad smell, and makes the water taste funny. We removed it and the water still tastes strange.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek and Durable I've had this sleek looking teakettle for over 5 years now. It heats quickly and has a loud whistle when boiling. The best part is how easy it is to pour. I'd definitely recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple little kettle Great kettle, stylish but minimal. Simple and to the point... does the job, no need for fancy features!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent kettle This tea kettle is all stainless steel and adheres to the OXO quality we are used to. Some reviews speak of hot handles and melted plastic whistles, well it's not the product but the user. Take a little responsibility and don't put the kettle on the largest burner on your stove and crank it on high. Flames my come around the edges and melt things. Look, it's a great product, just use a little common sense and it will last for years. Oh, and don't run with scissors either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this tea kettle I was concerned after ordering this teakettle for myself, when I read some negative reviews about it. I ordered the kettle with a cork handle. I have found this kettle to function very well. It boils the water quickly, and has a loud whistle. It pours easily, only a little extra flick from my wrist needed. I have no regrets in having ordered this kettle, and it's the best one I've tried so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job We got this to replace our old kettle and have not been let down. It can hold a deceptively large amount of water and is very easy to clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tea Kettle I originally purchased this item for a wedding gift. I liked the appearance so much, I purchased one for myself. The sleek modern look, is what caught my eye. Works well, also easy to clean, stays nice and shiney. Definitely would encourage you to check this tea kettle out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome kettle I needed this ... tired of microwaving my water when I try to make jello. Or, want enough hot water to make tea on a cold winter night without warms ups by microwave. Got it for my birthday and love it. Great stainless accent to my new kitchen

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tea's on! We put this kettle on our registry just because every stove needs a kettle. When we received it at our engagement party we decided to give it a whirl. We everything about it from the design to the form and yes, the whistle!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from handsome but no whistle Bought this handsome, heavy-duty tea kettle for my mom. Easy open spout is great. Problem is that kettle doesn't whistle. Is there some adjustment we need to make?
