Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very satisfied I've had this tea kettle 3 weeks and I am very pleased with it - design and function. Advice: set the burner No higher than medium because it heats very fast. Denver CO

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This teakettle works great. I've had it for nearly two years. My only complaint is that it has rusted, but that is typical with stainless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite! I bought this kettle a few months ago. It has been working great so far! It is nice and beautiful. Easy to grab and pour water. Great stuff worth money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You can hear the whistle!! This is an aesthestically appealing kettle that looks good in any style kitchen. The reason I chose this was mainly because the other kettles I've used don't have a whistle loud enough for me to hear from another room so the water would boil until it nearly dried out! My friend had one of these and it sounded like a train was coming through. Loved it! Sadly, the whistle on my kettle stopped working after years of use, possibly due to calcium build up. I will try to clean it and see if it whistles again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magic Kettle When I ordered this item online, I couldn't figure out how the spout opens and closes, but ordered it anyway. Now that we have been using it for about four months, I still can't figure it out how it works. It' kinda like magic. I sort of move the handle up or down a little bit, and the spout opens up or closes like I want it to, but it's a subtle motion, more like it's reading my thoughts than any real action I'm taking. It's pretty cool.We got this kettle to use on an a smooth surface range top which requires flat-bottom vessels. Works great, heats up fast.No problem with scorching, whistle is good, looks good. What's not to like?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great kettle, until it melted We loved this kettle, it got super hot and poured well. However, after 4 months of semi regular use-- the spout cap melted!!I am severely disappointed in the quality for Oxo. The plastic spout cap should not melt from the steam heat of boiling water.Do NOT recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great teakettle Love this product. Easy to pour from and to fill. Didn't realize the spout automatically opened when I ordered it - that was a bonus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Polly put the kettle on I love my kettle! It boils the water fast and has a great feel to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent kettle This tea kettle is all stainless steel and adheres to the OXO quality we are used to. Some reviews speak of hot handles and melted plastic whistles, well it's not the product but the user. Take a little responsibility and don't put the kettle on the largest burner on your stove and crank it on high. Flames my come around the edges and melt things. Look, it's a great product, just use a little common sense and it will last for years. Oh, and don't run with scissors either.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Teakettle I bought this item as a Christmas present for my parents, because they needed a new one. I thought going to C&B for a teakettle would be great since I heard the store has great products. Not the case here. I'm embarrassed for myself and C&B. Within a month of use, the outside of the teakettle became tarnished and the black plastic cover on the spout melted! That's inexcusable. I paid $50 for a terrible quality product. Now, I have to go purchase another teakettle for my parents. A waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Teakettle I had been searching for a teakettle for a while and finally found this one. The handle doesn't get too hot so you can grab it without a pot holder. The whistle is also loud enough. It's a great item if you're looking for a new teakettle!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Tea Kettle Ever This was a wedding gift in 2002. We'll be celebrating 11 years this September! The kettle is just now starting to show wear and tear by not whistling all the time and takes more effort to scrub the outside. But hey, it's 11 years old after all! Sturdy and reliable. We're definitely getting another one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleased with purchase The first two times I used this kettle it did not sound, so I wasn't aware the water was boiling. After that it has started to work and the whistle is working great. Since then I haven't had any problems with it. I would recommend it to someone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great, works fine I was reluctant to purchase after reading the reviews, but decided to buy it because there wasn't many other good options.I haven't encountered any of the issues other reviews have reported: water doesn't have a funny taste to me and the whistle works (I noticed though that if you add too much water the water just boils over and will not whistle).Overall, I thought it is a good purchase and would recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job We got this to replace our old kettle and have not been let down. It can hold a deceptively large amount of water and is very easy to clean.
