The Story

Handcrafted in Germany by the Redecker family of artisan brushmakers, this whimsical footed crumber is fashioned in the shape of a hedgehog to whisk away table debris with its fan of sturdy, utilitarian horsehair bristles.

Blind since the age of four, Friedrich Redecker attended the Soest School for the Blind where he learned the fine art of brushmaking. Having perfected the craft over his lifetime, Redecker went on to found his namesake company in 1935, passing his knowledge to his sons who have continued his legacy. Distinguished by the finest craftsmanship and the integrity of all-natural materials, our curated Redecker collection will serve you and your family for years and generations to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adorable and functional I bought this little guy about 3 months ago. He not aonly is adorable but works great at doing his job getting rid of crumbs. He is also a good conversation piece!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this guy! The brush is well made and small enough to put away in a drawer when not in use. It makes cleaning up that much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adorable good-quality crumb-brush I admit I bought this because it was unique and cute. But as it turns out, Spike the Hedgehog is an excellent little cleanup tool which we use all the time. He is great at brushing crumbs off our wood table, without any risk of damaging the finish. In the past, I used paper towels or sponges to do this job, which was time-consuming and can cause wear on the tabletop. I'm a convert to using a brush, and now save sponges and towels for major cleanups only. So I highly recommend this little guy. In fact I just bought another as a gift for my in-laws.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the cutest thing in the world! I have bought several and given them as gifts. Always a hit with my critter-loving friends. I have a kept a pair for myself-- just because they're cute. They make me smile when I see them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cutest pet! Whenever I see something unique as a hostess gift, I get a few and then need not panic for the right bottle of wine when running out the door to someone's house. I bought three of these guys and they are so cute... and a sweet (and different!) type of gift. The only negative is that there are a few of the bristles at the edges that did not arrive as tightly erect as the others. Though its imperfect, its still uber-cute!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So cute and functional! Love him! Easy to use, very effective on all kinds of "crumbs," and cute as can be sitting on the table ready to help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adorable and functional This little guy makes quick work of cleaning up espresso dust from my counters. And when he's not working, he sits at the ready on top of my espresso machine looking cute.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Cute and Functional Too Trust me, you want to own this little guy. Great as crumb brush or duster for other things like keyboards. When not in use, his little mohawk is the talk of the dining room when we have friends over!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cute and functional We got this as part of our wedding registry, and we are so glad we did! This brush is beyond cute, it's become more of a decorative item than anything else. However, we have used it as a brush and it works like a charm! The bristles are much softer than they appear, which is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Crumb Brush Bought this as a Christmas gift. A little smaller than I thought, but cute and does the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adorable and Quality I've had this little guy for about a year now, and I use him as a crumb brush for the dining table. He sits by the flower vase between uses and adds to the decor. He's held up very well, and still looks as beautiful as the day I bought him. A lot of cute things are made poorly, but this little guy is both adorable and quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and Functional. I visited kitchen store after kitchen store trying to find table brush, and could only find at Crate and Barrel. It works well, is well made and seems like it will be durable as well as stylish.
