summary

A stunning appetizer that makes a big impression. The beauty of this no-cook Smoked Salmon and Caviar Bites recipe is that it comes together quickly—and requires just five ingredients. Serve these beauties with a glass of bubbly for the ultimate holiday or New Year’s Eve celebration.

ingredients

  • 18 everything-seasoned pretzel thins
  • 4 ounces sliced smoked salmon
  • ¼ cup creme fraiche
  • Chopped fresh chives for garnish

directions

  1. Spread the pretzels out on a serving platter. Top each with a small piece of smoked salmon, a little dollop of creme fraiche and a small amount of caviar. Finish with chopped chives.
  2. Serve at once.

notes

Everything pretzel thins can be found in most grocery stores in the chip aisle. They are thin pretzels with “everything but the bagel” seasoning and are super flavorful. They also lay flat, creating a perfect base for topping.

Bagel chips, crostini and cucumber rounds also work well as a base for this smoked salmon and caviar appetizer recipe.

Caviar, the salt-cured roe of sturgeon, varies greatly in price. You don’t need the most expensive caviar for this—use what works for you.

You can use sour cream or plain greek yogurt in place of creme fraiche.

Place the caviar on top of the creme fraiche so that it doesn’t roll off!

Don’t make these too far in advance: up to an hour but no more.
