Mercer Dishes My daughter chose these for her registry and after I saw them I became obsessed over the beautiful somewhat uneven finish on the surface. Never have seen dishes like these and they have the look of being handmade. I ditched my current dishes and bought an entire set for myself. Rustic charm is the best way to describe these dishes. They were used for every holiday occasion and looked lovely with the the table and silver decor. You can use them for everyday use as well. The small lip keeps everything neatly on the plate. Simply Beautiful I purchased this set (8 dinner, 8 salad, 8 of each bowl, and 8 of those mini appetizer plates) about a year ago, and I LOVE it. To be honest, I haven't quite found a use for the mini plates, but they look great on the shelf :) The other dishes are all really good sizes, and the lip helps prevent spills for the clumsy among us. The bowls are fantastic and all of it really makes the food look good. I love that each plate and bowl has its own character, most dishes are rather dull, but these have personality. They wash well, though I'd really love for C&B to rethink the price stickers that are permanently affixed to everything they sell. It took a lot of goo gone to get those off! I recommend these dishes to anyone looking for something modern that has some character and interest. Date published: 2017-02-27

Great quality I bought this dish set in 2012 (about 5 years ago) and I still love them. They are really beautiful and versatile and the finish has held up very well after five years of regular use. I love the handmade/irregular look of them. I also love that they are oven-safe up to 350 degrees.A couple of minor cons: The undersides of the dishes are unglazed. For us, this has led to some rust spots that can't be washed off, but it's not a huge problem since it's only on the bottom. Second, the lip of the plate is very short, which can make it difficult to get food onto your utensils. You can't push food up against the lip of the plate, because it will just go over the edge. Weird, but good to know. The low lip also leads to flatware falling off the plate while clearing the table (the lip doesn't keep the flatware in place).Overall I've been very happy with this dish set because it's beautiful and high quality, but it does have a couple of quirks you should be aware of. Love love love I had to start my home from zero, I was looking for something unique, not usual, and that made me happy. Every time I entered C&B and looked at this set, I couldn't take my eyes of it. It has an artisanal quality and feels like handmade, a look I totally love. I get compliments from everyone. Perfect Size! My husband and I received a set of the Mercer plates and bowls as part of our wedding registry. We love all the shapes and sizes! The dinner plate is a bit too large so we tend to use just the salad plates for everyday use. We could not recommend them enough. They are modern, but with an organic edge due to the rough shape and texture which makes them more interesting than your average white dinnerware. Date published: 2016-11-02
