Super dinnerware!
These dishes are great. Plan to order more including that soft yellow to mix with the white.

I did my research, and this was the clear winner
I searched high and low for the perfect dinnerware set and was delighted to find these! The dishes are simple, classy but with character. They are sturdy as well. I had a hard time finding a set with a good size bowl and mug, but I find these to be just right.

Beautiful-- wash by hand!
These dishes are so beautiful! They look like they were handmade just for you. The lines are so organic, and they look elegant under even the simplest of meals. The problem, however, is that they do not fit in most standard dishwashers. I tried them at my home, and the homes of 3 friends-- and the dinner plates are too high for the dishwasher. So, I returned them to the store. I cannot have plates that I can't put in the dishwasher. The associates told me that many other people had returned them chipped from putting them in the dishwasher, so it seems that even if your dishwasher does fit them, it would be too tight.

Fantastic Purchase
We bought the 16 piece place settings plus 4 appetizer plates and 4 pasta bowls. They turn an "ordinary" meal into an "elegant" one. They look beautiful on the table. We love using them!

Beautiful, but chip very easily.
I fell in love with this set, and promptly begged and bullied my husband into liking them too ;) They're a perfect mix of rustic and classic white, and look hand-thrown which is exactly what I wanted. After I managed to convince my husband we ordered 3 sets, and in the two months since we got them 3 small salad plates, 2 large dinner plates, 2 mugs, and one bowl all have chips in them. We have never put them in the oven or microwave, and I hand-wash (mostly just rinse off) before loading into a regular dishwaher on basic settings. Oh, and we don't have any kids so that's not it either.
I'm so disappointed in the quality, and having spent 400 on dishes and serving plates and bowls, just to find that I already can't use a bunch of them.

Perfect Dinnerware!
My husband and I registered for this dinnerware set! We have been SO happy with our decision so far! None of the pieces have chipped or lost color. One thing we really like is that it goes with everything & I can easily dress them up or down.

a gamble that paid off
I agonized over the decision to purchase this set online but I am so happy I did! These dishes are wonderful! I like the fact that they are classic and simple but just different enough to not be boring. They have a luster to them that picks up the light and the shape of every one is just a little different. They fit in the dishwasher nicely and do not chip. The size is big enough without being bulky. Overall, a great decision!

Look great but fragile
I decided to update my dishes after a recent kitchen renovation. I chose a twelve-piece place setting of the Marin line (with large pasta bowls) based on their simplicity and hand-crafted look. While they look great, after only one month of light use (it's only my husband and I with grown kids coming for dinner on weekends) that one of the cups cracked. I don't even know how it happened because there was no apparent "clink." Never thought I'd need to replace so soon! I guess they are more fragile than they appear. Think twice if considering heavy use.

Great design and value
I bought service for 12 of the Marin White dinnerware last month and have been really happy. I'd been looking to replace my 20 year old everyday china for awhile now and have been really pleased. I like this simplicity yet uniqueness of the design. Great serving pieces too.

Dining upgrade
After months of thinking about purchasing the Marin white dinnerware, I finally broke down and did it. And I'm SO glad I did!! They are even more beautiful, unique, sexy, and practical than I expected. Somehow they manage to be modern yet vintage/artisan. I love that they are handmade in Portugal (not China). These dishes in white go with everything, so you can change your table linens and placemats to your heart's content. Their style can be casual or more formal. After 33 years of my original "wedding" dinnerware, it was time for an upgrade. I'm really glad I waiting for the Marin White dinnerware. We've had them for several months of daily use, and so far they have held up beautifully. I highly recommend the Marin White!

Unique Feel
Incredibly beautiful in person! They are extremely durable in the dishwasher and give that unique, rustic type feel that I was looking for! I absolutely adore them!

Beautiful Dinnerware!
I recently purchased the Marin dinnerware in white and couldn't be happier with my selection! The pieces have a hand-crafted quality, as they are slightly asymmetrical and have variations in the glaze along the edges. The pieces remind me of delicate petals, yet they are sturdy and stand up to daily use. Thanks Crate and Barrel, for creating a dinnerware set that combines beautiful aesthetics with functional practicality - perfect for me and my family!

Excellent Dinnerware
We registered for these dishes, and we absolutely love them! They are casual but can be fancy with the right placemats, etc...and they are simple enough that I doubt we will ever get tired of them. We use them every day and so far we are very happy with them. I would highly recommend these.

Elegant Dishes
These dishes are perfect for any use from cereal in the morning to entertaining at night. I especially love the coffee mugs; they have just the right amount of room for my morning coffee.

Beautiful shine on these plates
I loved all the colors but at the end of the day I can not get past the wow factor of food on white plates. They are smaller than my other plates so should encourage smaller portions (should being the operative word!) I love the shine and the unique crafted look is very rustic. Well used by a family of boys who are not know for care in stacking the dishwasher. Love them!

Great everyday set
i absolutely love our new plates. they're plain so that the food is really showcased and not distracted by patterns/color, but not so boring that they just sit there when unadorned with food. they're also durable, i've banged them against the sink a few times during washing and i haven't had a chip yet :)

Love the Marin White Dinnerware
This dinnerware set looks nice online but is so much nicer in person. The white color is not harsh or stark, but a nice soft white with a bit of lustre. I've seen somewhat similar styles at other stores, but the Marin White is hands down the best design. The subtle organic shape with the antiqued trim is fresh and appealing, and looks right no matter what you're serving, in a casual or more formal setting.
