Surprisingly awesome.
I was a little skeptical when I saw this item but decided to go for it when I saw the other good reviews - what a pleasant surprise when I used it!
The main use for it is "scooping" the avocado flesh out of the skin - I use the quotes because the entire avocado half remains intact when removed. The shape of the tool is perfect for the job and it's difficult to imagine being able to do it as effectively without something like this. The bottom line is that you get pretty much all of the avocado flesh out of the skin, as opposed to when you try to peel the skin off by hand and end up leaving a load of flesh on the inside of the skin. Awesome!
You can also use the tool to split the avocado and pop out the stone, although I guess these are easily enough done in other ways too. Handy to have everything in one tool nevertheless.
Really, for a few bucks you just can't go wrong with this - it will probably pay for itself in terms of the extra avocado you actually get to eat in a year or two!
