good looking but dissappointing
I love the look of this island, it is classy and beautiful. The marble top is very easy to mar, however. Even a glass of water has left an etched mark on the marble. I was wondering if it could be better polished or honed so that it is not so easily marked.

gorgeous table
I would definitely recommend this table if you are looking for a sturdy-yet-beautiful island-height table. Although the marble is naturally porous, you can easily purchase marble sealant to avoid stains. The rails at each end are handy for hanging towels and/or tools.

Gorgeous
I needed more work space in my kitchen, but didn't want a kitchen table and didn't have room for a large island. This wonderful french country island is perfect - - my kitchen really looks very gourmet!

Great looking island...but high maintenance
I had coveted this table for 2 years, and finally decided to bite the bullet when I'd gotten a 10% off coupon in a catalog. The delivery was impeccable!!
I owned the table for only one week when I noticed that it looked like something had splashed on it... When I went to wipe the "drips" off, the finish to the marble was gone! Oy vey! I hadn't even USED the table yet. It came with no care instructions, etc. I bought a marble sealer to try to fix it...to no avail...
If it damages this easily...I'm scared to use it for cooking!! Sniffle, sniffle...

Beautiful, requires a lot of care
This is a gorgeous piece of furniture, but requieres a lot of care since water marks appear very easily, you can only be so careful in the kitchen, but over all I am very satisfied with the price and quality, it really looks beautiful.

Wonderful Addition
I've been thinking about this piece since I first saw it a few months ago; handsome lines and quite useful form. I finally decided to go ahead with the purchase because I had the perfect spot for the counter in my kitchen. The entire experience of the purchase was fantastic. The item was in stock, delivery was convenient and effortless and the island looks great! It's a wonderful addition to my kitchen!

thrilling purchase!
My island was delivered yesterday, and I couldn't be more excited! Everything about this purchase experience was great. Crate and Barrel customer service have been unbelievably helpful every step of the way. I live in a remote area and delivery was tricky, but I didn't have to do anything other than answer questions! They were proactive and professional, something rarely found anymore.
Also rarely found anymore is the feeling of being completely thrilled with an item chosen online. This island is beautiful, solidly built, and super-functional. I can't say enough wonderful things about this purchase, start to finish. Thanks, C and B, I'll be back!

Beautiful Table
I had been looking at this table for a year in the catalog thinking this would be a great start for my kitchen make over. I finally went to look at it in person and fell in love. I knew then that I had to have this. It looks better then I imagined and every day I walk into my kitchen I have to pinch myself saying this is mine. Great quality, thank you C&B for this!

Worth every penny
I tend to buy less expensive furniture pieces that can easily be changed out without feeling guilty, since I like to rework my house often to fit my moods or changes in life.
It took a lot of courage for me to go in and spend this much on a kitchen island. We consider this an heirloom piece that we will have for many years to come. I love and it makes me smile every time I pass it in the house. It is sturdy, gorgeous and fits right into my space.
We were debating a remodel of the kitchen to gain more countertops and for much less we were able to achieve that same goal. So glad to have spent the money.

Beautiful Workspace
When we moved from our small rental into a new house, we lost our large eat-in kitchen space, and gained a dining room. This island was perfect to add prep space (my husband calls it "The Staging Area") and storage. With a couple of bar stools, it's great for a bowl of cereal or for sharing a cup of coffee.
It was a snap to assemble, though the marble top is extremely heavy and requires two strong people to lift. The entire island is easy for two people to move, and has heavy rubber feet to protect the floor. Overall, this is a beautiful, sturdy piece that will be the centerpiece of our kitchen for many years to come!

So far, so good
I was very hesitant to purchase it at first. I read lots of reviews of people complaining about how even just water would leave a stain. We then went to the store downtown NYC and the sales associate talked us into not getting it for our kitchen. He told us horror stories.
A couple of weeks later I logged in and saw the happy reviews from everybody. Yeah!!! Thank you for fixing the problem C&B!!! I've spilled water, coffee and so far no stains. I love it.

Beautiful piece
This kitchen island is a very rich looking piece. It fits beautifully in my small space where it doubles as extra counter space and is used for dining; not to mention its the perfect place to sit and type on my ipad. It does stain easily if spills are allowed to dry (even small splashes) so I wipe it down after any use.
The rack underneath looks great where bottles stack up like pyramids and provides convenient storage for large and small kitchen things. I chose the Village Black Barstools with the striped cushions over the ones shown in the picture because I needed something more sturdy. This purchase is worth every penny and I hope to enjoy it for years to comes!

We bought this island to fill a space that our contractor dropped the ball on... anyway everyone who sees it makes a comment on how great it looks!

Absolutely love it!
The island is beautiful, elegant, and very functional. It provides a lot of storage space down below - essential for our current kitchen. The island is also very well built; solid and sturdy. Truly a great purchase!

French Kitchen Island
The customer service when ordering and the followup on delivery was super. I was sent very specific instructions, and then followed up by a phone call during which the agent also gave me detailed care instructions for the item.
It's a beautiful piece and I believe I'll thoroughly enjoy it. The one downside (which I knew but still want to pass on) is that the marble top makes it VERY heavy and difficult to move easily. But I think I'm going to get some rollers to have when I might want to move it.

Wonderful styling
There is so much to love about the French Kitchen Island. First, it's so pleasing to the eye. I get compliments on it everytime someone enters my kitchen. Second, if you've been shopping around, you know kitchen islands can run into the thousands if they're well made. But what I like most about this one is the amount of counter top space while not being obtrusive. In a small kitchen the "open-ness" underneath gives an airy feel and doesn't close in the room like other block untis. Fill the bottom with woven baskets to house your wares and you have storage galore. But one of the most useful features has been the towel racks on both sides. Now my kitchen towels don't hit the floor being draped over the oven door handle and they aren't in my way laying on the counter. The rounded edges of the towel bars keep you from bumping into any nasty corners. It's heavy, and well constructed, and the marble is lovely to look at. The marble does show "water" stains, and you can find products that stop that from happening, but like a beautifully worn leather object, I like the marks that show a lived-in kitchen full of good memories!

Keepsake Treasure!
I wanted a pub table for my kitchen area, but something different. This island turned out to be a perfect idea. It is so nice and refreshing to look at and is userful for many things - like spreading out when baking, etc. Truly a keepsake to treasure for many years to come.

C'est Magnifique!
Purchased this french kitchen island and fell in love! I looked all over for a marble top table for my kitchen and this was by far the most affordable. Got it home and found that it is also amazing quality.
Enjoying breakfast on it everyday! My dishes even look more stylish.
Highly recomend as a great addition to any space!
