Love This Compost Pail
I bought one of these for myself and my mom. Before, we were just using a bowl on top of our counter for food scraps. This looks great and works great. Eliminates odor and so easy to clean. Everything I was looking for. Love it!

lots to learn
ok this is my first compost experience so i am a newbie. things i have learned: 1. do NOT let the compost sit in there for a whole week LOL take it out to the dump site like no more than 4 days at a time. Buy the bags, they are good and keep it simple to wash, however, make sure when you go to do your dump, you take the whole pail with you, IN Case things are dripping (ICK) take to the pile THEN pull the bag out, the remains can decompos very quickly and if you smell a funny smell in your kitchen one day, dont dismiss it, you probably need to take that bad boy out LOL so now i know not to wait a whole week! The filters ARE washable if you need to, like i did this one time, becasue i wasnt going to waste one so soon after i had bought it, they are supposed to last 6 months. I have a garbage desposal so i am not sure how much benefit i am going to reep, but i still like the idea, and i am hopeful that my veggie garden will reep the beni's once i really start composting. The hassle factor is minor (though my hubby is NOT happy about having to do ONE more thing LOL) The product itself is made well and looks nice on my counter, it is pretty big, so make sure you have room.

Great item!
I have been looking for one of these and this one is it. If I forget to put it under the sink, it looks like an ice bucket on the counter. Love it.

Why yes, we do love our compost pail.
We have had other pails... bamboo to be specific...and this one is the best. Durability that surpasses other designs and will last a long time. We were excited to get it as a wedding gift. We use ours daily and it is perfect. Drop the lid on this one and it doesn't break. You just can't say that about a bamboo composter.

Perfect Pail
This little compost pail is wonderful. I use it all on a daily basis for our leftover scrap foods. It is the perfect size to sit on the counter or under our sink. It is of great quality and it does not leak or stink. Something very important to me. And it composts soundly and quickly. The compost from my pail has done wonders for my garden. And living in Las Vegas, that's saying something!
If you are someone who is into recycling and composting, this is a must buy for you. I absolutely love my compost pail.

Oh, the knob
Be careful: the compost pail is neat but we did not worry enough that the knob on the top was loose. On the second trip up to the composter, the knob was lost somewhere in the yard or deep in the composting debris. I was told by the help desk that a replacement can not be purchased....we rigged a drawer pull and washers but the product would be so much better if a replacement part could be bought....too expensive an item to not come with its own solution.

Finally a good quality compost pail
I purchased this in large and wasn't thrilled about the price BUT, if you consider what I've spent in the past on units that did not last then, this is well worth it. It's a lifetime purchase because this can will last and last. Love the easy clean-up too.

NO SMELL--YAY
This is our second compost pail--had a pottery one for years, but even when that one had a filter, the compost material smelled bad. We have had this new stainless steel pail for weeks now, and there has been no smell--and we haven't emptied it yet! This one really is light weight so it's easier to deal with, and the good odor control is wonderful.

Compost Pail
I am very happy with this compost pail. I have composted for many year, and formally had the ceramic one. It cracked and was leaking, so I went with the stainless this time. It's a little pricey for a bucket, though.

great bucket, but the fruit flies like it, too!
Looks great on the countertop. Size is appropriate for about one day in my household (I bought the smaller of the two). Right now, with 90 degree heat in my kitchen, it attracts fruit flies fairly quickly. I think this will likely diminish as the weather cools. I hope it will.

A great addition
Just bought a new home with a garden. Started the large compost piles outside. The counter top compost pails make it so easy to collect the waste for the compost. This thing has been full to the top a few times no with no odor (except a little when you take the top off). Looks great, filters work, bio bags make it very easy. Does not take up much space either.
Don't hesitate to buy.

Great Alternative to plastic green countertop bins
Please note, I was not one to compost. I thought it would be stinky, messy, etc. When I heard composting in the city was around the corner and I saw the small green bin we were being provided, I knew I had an issue. After searching the internet, I settled on this one. My only disappointment is the 1.5 gallon was not available when I purchased mine.
I use compost bags in my pal which makes for easy cleaning. The pal holds in any and all odors. During food prep, I just move it from one counter to another and dump food scraps straight into it. We empty ours when it fills up which is every 1-2 days. My neighbor liked mine so much, we bought him one for Christmas.

I just love this!
I started a compost pile about 2 years ago, and was using an old coffee can to hold the scraps. It was ugly, so I didn't like leaving it out on the counter. I saw this and put it on my gift registry. It's probably one of my favorite gifts!! It NEVER smells, and sometimes I forget to take out the compost for a week or so. After I bring the compost out, I throw the pail in the dishwasher and it cleans up great. I also got compostable liners, which makes less of a mess in the pail, so I don't have to wash it every time. The filters are fabulous. I usually change them once every 6 months or so and they're great. I've never smelt the compost once!! And fruit flies stay away, too, which is great.

Love it!
We've been composting for a while but had always use an old coffee can. This not only looks great, but is also very functional and doesn't smell at all! Very happy with this purchase! I bought the 1 gallon pail and it holds A LOT!

Super purchase
I'm liking the pail very much. No odors, looks great. Glad I got the larger one. It fills up fast! I'd recommend getting the replacement filters with your order of the pail.

A great product!
We've been using this for about a month now and are very happy with it. It looks nice on the countertop and there is no smell whatsoever. We only need to empty the container once or twice a week, so it's very convenient. Works perfectly with the biobags - when it's full we just pull the bag out and replace it with a fresh one.

Great!
I love my new pail. I've been composting for a couple of years, but I always hated the daily trips to the composter, but with this pail I only go a couple of times a week. The smells stay in the pail, so it doesn't attract any bugs.
I just wish I had purchased the compostable liners as well.

Amazing, better than expected
I purchased this for my daughter for her birthday, funny this is what she wanted. I couldn't find one in any of our stores here. No one knew what I was talking about. They needed one because their home has an older kitchen and wasn't sure about the plumbing to install a disposal. They had if full in 3 days, I should have gotten the bigger one with a family of 4. It is amazing though, no smells; they just put it into our yardies the city picks up and nothing wasted. Love it, I need one now.

stylish bin
We ordered the 1 gallon compost bin. Very stylish and handy. The filters work great - so far. I make about 1 trip per week to the compost bin instead of everyday.

My compost pail sits on the counter awaiting the arrival of my outdoor compost bin. It's been three weeks now, and I have not had the slightest trace of odor coming from the contents of the pail. This is a must have item for composters.
