I love this can opener!
No more sharp edges or having to dig lid out of can when it falls in. Seems more sanitary. Cleans up quickly and completely. Folds neatly in drawer. Crank handle makes it easier to use with older hands. Has a neat feature that grabs the edge of the lid once the seal is broken so you never have to touch the lid. I'm buying more for my daughter, friends and myself! So glad I found this product.

So so..
I love this can opener, but my husband does not! He thinks we may have to become a two-can opener family! He does not like that you really can't tell when the can is pierced and when you have finished the cutting (I visually mark the starting point by noting a spot on the label). Oh well, we have different tastes in cars, too...

disappointment
I found adequate directions lacking for this product. It is a good idea, but confusing to work. I asked a sales person when I checked out of the store with it, and she was uncertain how it worked as well.
I found it hard to put on the can, hard to see if it works, and in general, frustrating to use. I am disappointed, as I have carpal tunnel syndrome and need a can opener that is easy on the wrist.

The Best Can Opener!
When I found this can opener in my local Crate & Barrel store, I liked the idea of a "safety" can opener because I struggle and sometimes cut myself with the can lid almost every time I use my old can opener (which was supposed to be top quality). The staff at the store hadn't tried the opener but offered (Thanks Matt!) to look up the online reviews right there. After reading the reviews, I was convinced I should at least try it. When I first started to use it, it was easy to maneuver but didn't seem like it was doing anything. I eventually realized it cuts the lid in a different way than my old can opener. It seems like it's cutting from the outside instead of from the inside. It was so easy. Love it! I plan to buy another for my home emergency kit.

Easy to use, really.
Before I purchased this, I was weary as the some of the reviews made it seems like only an engineer would know how to make this thing work. Granted, I did have to read the short directions that were included on it to be sure I could "handle" the task. The beauty is that it is so easy. It doesn't make cranking/metal noises so you can not tell it is working. But, once you are done turning it, all you have to - with your hand - is lift off the lid. It is safe and easy. I am so glad I took a chance on this.

Super Smart Space Saver
I love safety can openers, namely because I am accident prone. My first one finally kicked the bucket so I bought this one. I love the design, it fits cleverly in my kitchen gadget drawer. Other reviews say it doesn't work properly, but my experience with these openers most people don't realize its working. The opener doesn't pierce the can at all. Its like magic! Also very good for people with arthritis, narrow handle, and easy turn crank doesn't require a tough grip.

Takes a bit of practice
The can opener didn't seem to work at all and I was on my way to return the item back to the store. I first decided to check online and read some of the reviews and found the first one I read to be quite helpful so I decided to give it another shot (following Ronny's instructions) and it worked! Works perfectly too.

Eye Opener
The only thing wrong with this product, is the lack of instruction that comes with it. Even with the help of a live chat employee, I could not get it to work.
Then, suddenly! I had an eye opener, about this can opener. What if, "I try "prying upward" with the opener after cranking a full (clockwise) circle around the lid?" This was the trick! The lid easily separated from its seam, with no sharp edges. I then had to go to the cupboard, and pry up all the lids on the cans which I had practiced on, because their seals had been broken.

Don't waste your money
I have never been inclined to write a review about a product, good or bad...until purchasing this item. Not only does the item not perform as advertised it will not even pierce the can!
This was not a wise purchase.
