A modern table with a rich history, the Paloma table is the story of timber reclamation from around the world. Paloma's distinctive base features a dynamic stack of precision-cut strips of peroba wood reclaimed from Brazilian homes no longer use. In organic contrast is a solid slab top of ironbark hardwood, recouped from Brisbane's historic Hornibrook Highway Bridge, demolished by the Australian government in 2011. This artful Zen-meets-Prairie Style dining collection displays the beautiful range of dark and honeyed browns and natural graining to be found in these repurposed woods. Seats eight.

Rated 2 out of 5 by BucktownMom from Interesting piece...butWe love the modern zen look of the Paloma collection and bought the Paloma I buffet table last year and love it. We finally decided to buy the Paloma II dining table (for a different room) and were not concerned about the difference between the 2 pieces in stain/finish. I am disappointed with the table top. It has what looks like over 12 accidental cuts (against, not with the grain) that appear to have been stained in an attempt to hide the cut but the stain was too dark or the wood absorbed too much of the color. And it it not random, many of the cuts are in a line, like someone used the table as a work bench while using a knife to cut items on the tabletop. There are also a few small holes (not knots) that appear to have been stained. And wood filler/putty in between the veneer slats is up to 1/8" wide in some places. All of this combined is not acceptable to me. I saw this table in the Chicago North Avenue store and it had a few dark spots, not 18-20.

Rated 5 out of 5 by colinb from Center of AttentionI bought this to use as a conference table at my small business. I frequently meet with clients and I wanted a table with a rustic contemporary look that was also functional and beautiful. This table is the first thing clients see when they enter my office and it looks like a million bucks. Every person who has entered my office has commented on the table. It truly is beautiful and unique. Based on the display model, I had some concern about rough edges and the possibility that the table's veneer might snag clothing. I no longer have that concern. The table is rustic by design but the finish has been smoothed and sanded very well. I believe the table I received is a bit lighter in color than the display model and the wood planks have more character than the one I saw at C&B. Because there are not legs at the corners, the table doesn't feel crowded. It is probably large enough to accommodate three chairs on each side but I have used two chairs on each side with one chair at each head. I am very happy with this purchase and I absolutely recommend this table.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Seattlesister from Beautiful base of the tableI saw this table in two different Crate and Barrel stores and really liked it even though I was warned that it scratched easy. When I received my table, the color of the surface was more of a mahogany than I had expected. The base has more walnut tones. The stain is also very dense and does not show grain at all. I kept the table, but it took a lot of the pleasure out of it for me. Seems "cheap" even though it wasn't.

Rated 5 out of 5 by avivA4 from Classy & SophisticatedThis table is the centerpiece of our home. It's beautiful, and large enough to fit 8 comfortably, or 12 during holiday dinners. We use a bench on one side, and chairs around the rest of the table. It should be noted that the surface of this table has a lot of character; small nicks and small dark indentations, and you should be prepared for that upon delivery inspection. The character adds to the modern, rustic, classy feel that this table will give any home. Our favorite piece of furniture from Crate & Barrel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by kedgecomb from so beautiful!I purchased this table last month and LOVE IT! The base is so unique and beautiful and the top has a slightly distressed look which I think will serve us well with our anticpated wear & tear. My husband felt that the top was a different shade than what we saw in the showroom. However, I didn't mind because the description clearly stated that each piece was different. This table is bold, easy to assemble and comfortably sits 10 people. If necessary, you could even have 2 head chairs on each end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nancy77 from LOVE!We bought this for our dining room with the Lowe Khaki Side Chairs. They look beautiful together and the table is gorgeous. The one thing I don't love about the table is when wiping it down it will occasionally snag the towel or paper towel, the surface is not completely smooth so it causes things to grab when wiping it down. I just wipe side to side instead of with the grain of the wood. In spite of that one minor flaw, I love it and would buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Karamos from A piece of art!I bought this table nearly three years ago and it really stands the test of time. I have a 4-yr old and it has been through a lot and still looks new. Many guests have commented on how unique it is and we truly feel it is like a piece of art - not just our kitchen table!
