summary
One of my dreams is to visit Japan and get one of those matcha soft serve ice cream cones you always see going viral—they look unreal. Since I can’t just hop on a flight to get one, this homemade matcha soft serve recipe is my best shot at making one at home.
ingredients
- 1½ cups whole milk
- ½ cup cream
- â…“ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons ceremonial grade
matcha powder - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon vanilla pudding mix
directions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole milk, cream, sugar, matcha powder, vanilla extract, and vanilla pudding mix. Use a whisk to whisk everything together until fully combined and smooth.
- Carefully pour the mixture into a Ninja Swirl™ by CREAMi® pint container and freeze for 24 hours.
- Once frozen, insert the pint container into the Ninja Swirl by CREAMi soft serve and ice cream maker and process on the Soft Serve setting. For extra creaminess, use the Re-Spin setting once. Then attach the pint to the Soft Serve handle and swirl directly onto an ice cream cone or in a FLUR latte glass.
- To finish, use a fine mesh strainer to dust a little extra matcha powder on top. Serve immediately.
notes
Depending on how cold your freezer is, you may need to re-spin the soft serve twice. If it still isn’t as smooth as you’d like after the first re-spin, let it sit at room temperature for 3 minutes, then re-spin again.
