The simple, classic shape of our Caspian cereal bowl puts the focus on its beautiful reactive blue glaze. Undergoing chemical changes during firing, the glaze produces one-of-a-kind patterns and luminous, variable blue tones. Beginning as aqua, the glaze cascades down the bowl's interior, pooling at the bottom in cobalt, peppered throughout with unique markings and crackles. This intentional and desirable crazing occurs during firing, and the craquelure can develop more complexity over the years whenever the raw natural materials expand and contract. The glaze and its effects are food-safe but may temporarily discolor with certain foods.
